Army Ten Miler Pre-Race Dinner

Are you a Ranger coming to DC for the Army Ten-Miler? Do you live in the area and need a lift in spirit that can only come from hanging out with fellow Rangers? Whether you are coming to town for the Army Ten-Miler or live in the area, on October 8th join Army Rangers, current and past, for an evening of carb loading (beer) and fun the night before the race at Highline Restaurant in Crystal City.

The Army Ranger Lead the Way Fund, the preeminent charity in support of the 75th Ranger Regiment, will be the host for this event and any funds raised will go to the Fund to support wounded Rangers.



2017 NYC Half Marathon

We are pleased to announce that we have secured charity slots again this year for the 2017 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon which will take place on Sunday, March 19th.

The 13.1 mile race will start in Central Park at 7:30am and finish in downtown Manhattan.

Please note:

*Team Army Ranger runners are required to cover their race entry fee  and all runners MUST commit to meeting the minimum fundraising requirement of $1500.  As this is a fundraising effort, will be billed for the remainder of the balance should you not meet your fundraising requirement.

*All runners will be supported with Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund racing gear including a performance training shirt, race day pinney, visor, gear bag and water bottle.

Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund 2017 Gala

On Thursday, April 6, 2017, Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund will be hosting its 3rd Gala Benefit at Pier Sixty in NYC in support of our wounded and active duty U.S. Army Rangers and their families. We are excited to have Tom Brokaw back again as our Master of Ceremonies as we honor the United States Special Operations Command Warrior Care Program (Care Coalition) with our Sgt. James J. Regan Lifetime Achievement Award. The USSOCOM Warrior Care Program supports Special Operations Forces (SOF) Wounded, Ill, or Injured service members and their families by providing a model advocacy program to enhance and strengthen their quality of life. Our relationship with the Warrior Care Program has been integral to the success of our organization.

We are thrilled to tell you that Four Star General Raymond A. Thomas “Tony”, who currently serves as the 11th Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), has graciously accepted our invitation to attend as our esteemed guest speaker, helping us to honor Care Coalition.

2017 “Regs Rock” Lacrosse Day for Heroes

Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund will host its annual “Regs Rock” Lacrosse Day for Heroes fundraising event at Chaminade High School located at 340 Jackson Avenue, Mineola, NY, 11501 . The one-day event, which attracts over 2,000 spectators, features the always anticipated match-up between two of the country’s best High School lacrosse teams, the Manhasset Indians and the Chaminade Flyers Varsity and Junior Varsity teams.

Each year, “Regs Rock” honors the life of Manhasset hero, Sgt. James J. Regan (CHS ‘98), who was killed in action in February 2007 while serving with the 75th Ranger Regiment.

All proceeds from the day will go directly to Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund in support of our active duty and wounded elite Special Operations U.S. Army Rangers and their families.

Suggested donation to Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund is $10.00 for Adults 18 and over.

NorthFace Endurance Challenge at Bear Mountain State Park

Hello Friends & Supporters of the Lead The Way Fund!

It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce that the Lead The Way Fund will be returning for the fourth year as a local non-profit partner for the 2017 North Face® Endurance Challenge Series event to be held on May 13-14 at Bear Mountain State Park in Bear Mountain, New York.

Through the generosity of the race organizers we have been granted discounted slots for the Half-Marathon, Marathon, 50k, 50-miler and Marathon Relay (consisting of teams of 2 to 4 people).

This is a hardy test for trail runners of any level, The North Face Endurance Challenge New York winds along the western shores of the Hudson River and through the craggy foothills of the Catskill Mountains. Expect enough rocks and challenging terrain along the course to keep you engaged, but not enough to prevent you from running the majority of the race.

RACING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Please email racing@leadthewayfund.org with your interest in joining Team Army Ranger for any of these races. Please also specify which event you are interested in.
  • Please be advised that all racers MUST commit to meeting minimum Lead The Way Fund fundraising requirements set at $500 for the Marathon and Half- Marathon and $750 for the Marathon Relay Team.
  • All Team Army Ranger participants will be fully supported by Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund with racing gear including a visor, a light-weight performance running top, racing pinney and a LTWF backpack to carry all your great new gear in.

Lake Placid Summit Classic Lacrosse Tournament

We are thrilled to announce that Lake Placid Summit Classic Lacrosse Tournament has selected Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund as one of two charity beneficiaries for the second year!

This year, Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund will have three teams (High School, 18+ and 39+) playing, and fundraising, on our behalf.  Last year, Team Army Ranger’s 18+ team won the championship with an exciting victory!

The Lake Placid Summit Classic was established in 1990 with the idea of playing lacrosse in a beautiful place. In year one the event comprised of 7 teams with play over two days. 2017 marks the 28th year of the event and over 7 days, over 250 teams broken out by 18 different divisions, will come to Lake Placid to compete. Boys, girls, men and women all participate and ages range from 15 to 60+. The LPSC is a celebration of lacrosse and camaraderie.

The Annual Major League Lacrosse Legends Alumni Game is slated to take place on August 4th at 5pm. The game will be broadcast on LAX Sports Network.

TOBAY Triathlon 2017

Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund will again have slots again at the TOBAY Triathlon on Sunday, August 27, 2017. The slots are available a discounted price of $65 per slot.

When: Sunday, August 27, 2017

Where: Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park, Oyster Bay, New York

Swim: 1/2 mile in calm Oyster Bay Harbor
Bike: 15 kilometers (one loop), over hill & dale, through beautiful Oyster Bay, Laurel Hollow, and Cove Neck. Fairly hilly but with a 2.9 mile downhill to the finish!!
Run: 5 kilometers through Mill Neck & Brookville, “up” to Planting Fields Arboretum & back “down” to Roosevelt Park.

Racing Requirements

To be considered for a slot on Team Army Ranger please email your indication of interest to racing@leadthewayfund.org.

* Please note that in order to qualify for a Lead The Way Fund slot each contestant is asked to raise $500. We will discuss multi-race participants on an individual basis.

** Each entrant will receive a LTWF gear bag including a LTWF visor and a LTWF light-weight running top and racing pinney.

We are pleased to announce that, through the Army Ten-Miler Military Community Partner Program, we have again been able to secure slots at the Army Ten-Miler on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.

Throughout the race, Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund will have a tent in the HOOAH Tent zone to further raise awareness for the work we do on behalf of our elite Special Operations U.S. Army Rangers and their families.

Racing Requirements:

* In order to qualify for a slot each participant will be required to meet a minimum fundraising goal of $500. Should you not make your fundraising minimum you will be personally responsible for the difference. 

*Each racer will be responsible for the $65 race entry fee. Race fee can be donated as part of your fundraising effort.

*Each fundraiser will be supported with Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund racing gear including a light-weight performance running shirt, racing pinney, gear bag and visor.

*Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund will be hosting a pre-race dinner for all of our runners on Saturday night, October 7th at a location TBD.

Duke Lacrosse Military Appreciation Game

On Saturday March 24, the Duke Men’s Lacrosse Team will take to the field against Syracuse, once again, in honor of Jimmy Regan and Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund during their Military Appreciation Game.

University of Georgia v. Georgia Tech


On April 14th, 2018, University of Georgia will host its first Lacrosse Day for Heroes honoring Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund.  The fun-filled day of lacrosse will consist of UGA’s annual Alumni game vs. Georgia Tech followed by the UGA vs. GT game.

All funds raised will go to Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund in support of the men and families of the U.S. Army’s elite Special Operations 75th Ranger Regiment.

Heroes Golf Classic

Please join us for the Inaugural Heroes Golf Classic honoring Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund, benefiting the men and families of the elite Special Operations 75th Ranger Regiment on Monday, July 30th, 2018.

The event includes a 4-person scramble, Heroes Golf Classic swag bag, a delicious brunch buffet, cocktail reception immediately following the fun-filled day on the course and dinner honoring the Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund.

Fun on the course includes but is not limited to: long drive contest, closest to the pin, beverage cart, and BBQ lunch at the Halfway House. Amazing silent auction items and raffle packages will be available for outing participants during both the cocktail reception and dinner. Raffle prizes and more contests will be announced closer to the tournament.

Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund, a 501c3 non-profit, is an active duty, casualty assistance, recovery, transition and Veterans organization that supports the men and families of the 75th Ranger Regiment with financial assistance, beyond what the government and Veterans Affairs can offer. Jimmy’s Run Down Hero Highway, will take place on Sunday, November 17th!

Each year this patriotic and family-friendly 4.5 mile Fun Run/Walk/Stroll and celebratory brunch  pays tribute to our Hero, and beloved friend to so many, SGT James J. Regan and honors the life of our Fallen.

Attendees of all ages will revel in a day filled with moving tributes, amazing camaraderie and great food & drink to help raise money for Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund in support of the Rangers and families of the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Starting at Pier 45, participants will come together for a spirited trip along the West Side Highway, past Ground Zero, and in constant view of Lady Liberty. The festivities continue with a post-race celebratory brunch at the beautiful Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. Those not interested in participating in the Run/Walk can check-in directly at The Lighthouse.

We are honored to partner again with The American Fallen Soldiers Project to present hand-painted original portraits to the families of two beloved Fallen Rangers. We hope you will join us as we honor those heroes and their families who gave it all to protect our freedom. This event will take place RAIN OR SHINE.

There is no minimum but we encourage participants to raise funds to support our programs. Sadly, due to Covid-19, we will be unable to host this race in person but we invite you to join us from WHEREVER YOU ARE and help us honor this tradition by running, walking, strolling, rolling or rucking this race virtually.
Whether it was on the lacrosse field or off, Jimmy Regan made an impact on all those who knew him. His smile lit up a room and his passion for his sport, his family, his friends, his teammates and his Brothers in the 75th Ranger Regiment was unmatched. Maybe you met Jimmy at Chaminade, or on the streets of his hometown of Manhasset, or on the fields at Duke University. One way or another, if you knew him, you loved him.
By joining us for this special day you can do your part to help us remember and honor Jimmy’s legacy as all of his Fallen Brothers in the 75th Ranger Regiment.
Each participant will receive a commemorative Under Armour event t-shirt! In order to receive the shirt before race day you must register prior to November 1st. We will still be accepting registrations through race day, and you will receive a shirt, but you are not guaranteed to receive your shirt in time.
It’s been a tough year for everyone but it has not stopped us from providing significant support to our Rangers and their families.

Army Ten Miler 2021

We are pleased to announce that, through the Army Ten-Miler Military Community Partner Program, we have secured charity racing slots again at the Army Ten-Miler on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.

Throughout the race, Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund will have a tent in the HOOAH Tent zone to further raise awareness for the work we do on behalf of our elite Special Operations U.S. Army Rangers and their families.

Racing Requirements:

* In order to qualify for a slot each participant will be required to meet a minimum fundraising goal of $500. Should you not make your fundraising minimum you will be personally responsible for the difference. 

*Each racer will be responsible for the $65 race entry fee. Race fee can be donated as part of your fundraising effort.

*Each fundraiser will be supported with Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund racing gear including a light-weight performance running shirt, racing pinney, gear bag and visor.

*Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund will be hosting a pre-race dinner for all of our runners on Saturday night, October 9 at a location TBD.

2021 TCS NYC Marathon

Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund is excited to announce that, through the generosity of the New York Road Runners, we have secured charity slots again for the 2021 TCS NYC Marathon on Sunday, November 7.

*Team Army Ranger runners must commit to the minimum fundraising requirement of $3,000 and all runners are responsible for your NYRR registration fee.  If you do not meet your minimum fundraising requirement you will be responsible for the balance owed. *

All Team Army Ranger runners will receive Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund running gear including a training shirt, race day pinney, visor and Lead The Way Fund backpack.

All donations go directly into our Ranger Assistance Programs in support of the Rangers and families of the 75th Ranger Regiment.
