Lead the Way Golf Outing 2010

Dear Friends and Supporters of the U.S. Army Rangers,

 

We are pleased to announce that on Thursday September 16th 2010 we will host our Fourth Annual Lead The Way Fund Golf Outing. Please come join us for a day full of fun and patriotism as we celebrate and raise money for the U.S. Army Rangers. Since its inception in 2007, the Lead The Way Fund has helped many Army Rangers who have been injured while fighting for our country by offering financial assistance that the government is unable to provide. With your ongoing support, the Lead The Way Fund can continue to reach out across this great country of ours to these brave soldiers and their families.

 

 

This golf outing is a great opportunity to give back to those who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedom and the quality of life we are privileged to enjoy here in the United States of America. Those of you who have attended in the past will undoubtedly recall many of the moments that make this yearly event so special.

Sgt. James J. Regan

SGT JAMES  (JIMMY) J. REGAN WAS ASSIGNED TO COMPANY C, 3RD BATTALION, 75TH RANGER REGIMENT WHEN HE WAS KILLED BY AN IED WHICH TARGETED HIS VEHICLE IN NORTHERN IRAQ IN FEBRUARY, 2007.

DEEPLY AFFECTED BY THE TERROR ATTACKS OF 9/11 ,SGT. REGAN REJECTED LUCRATIVE WALL STREET JOB OPPORTUNITIES AND LAW SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS TO VOLUNTEER FOR MILITARY SERVICE AND ENTERED THE ARMY IN FEBRUARY, 2004 .

SGT. REGAN, OF MANHASSET, NEW YORK,  WAS AN EXEMPLARY SCHOLAR -ATHLETE AT CHAMINADE HIGH SCHOOL  WHERE HE WAS RECOGNIZED FOR HIS ACADEMIC, SPORTS AND COMMUNITY ACHIEVEMENTS.    AS A RESULT OF HIS ACADEMIC RECORD AND HIS ALL AMERICAN ACHIEVEMENT ON THE LACROSSE FIELD, JIMMY  REGAN WAS RECRUITED BY DUKE UNIVERSITY  ON A LACROSSE SCHOLARSHIP.  WHILE THERE HE LED THE DUKE TEAM TO TWO ACC CHAMPIONSHIPS.  HE GRADUATED WITH A DEGREE IN ECONOMICS AND WAS POISED ON THE BRINK OF A HAPPY AND FULFILLING LIFE  WHEN HE ANSWERED THE CALL  TO DEFEND HIS COUNTRY.

GRADUATING FIRST IN  HIS CALSS IN   INFANTRY BASIC COMBAT TRAINING, HE RECEIVED THE DISTINCTION OF “SOLDIER OF THE CYCLE”.   MOVING ON THROUGH THE BASIC AIRBORNE COURSE AND RANGER INDOCTRINATION  PROGRAM AT FORT BENNING, JIMMY SERVED IN THE 3RD BATTALION AS MACHINE GUNNER AND GUN TEAM LEADER, AND FINALLY FIRE TEAM LEADER , SERVING IN IRAQ WHEN HE WAS KILLED.

IN ADDITION TO TWO DEPLOYMENTS TO IRAQ, SGT. REGAN HAD ALSO DEPLOYED TWICE TO AFGHANISTAN IN SUPPORT OF OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.  SHORTLY BEFORE HIS DEATH IN 2007, HE WAS PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF SERGEANT.

SGT REGAN’S AWARDS AND DECORATIONS INCLUDE THE ARMY ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL, THE ARMY GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, THE NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL, THE GLOBAL WAR ON TERRORISM SERVICE MEDAL, THE AFGHANISTAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, THE IRAQ CAMPAIGN MEDAL, THE ARMY SERVICE RIBBON, AND HE WAS POSTHUMOUSLY AWARDED THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL, MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL AND PURPLE HEART.  HIS DECORATIONS INCLUDE THE RANGER TAB, THE COMBAT INFANTRYMAN BADGE, THE EXPERT INFANTRYMAN BADGE AND THE PARACHUTIST BADGE.

JIMMY’S LOSS WAS AN IMMENSE TRAGEDY TO EVERYONE WHO KNEW AND LOVED HIM.  HE LEFT BEHIND HIS LOVING FIANCEE, HIS PARENTS AND THREE SISTERS.  -THROUGH THE LEAD THE WAY FUND, HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS STRIVE TO HONOR HIS SPIRIT, HIS PATRIOTISM AND THE WAY HE LIVED HIS LIFE BY COMBINING OUR EFFORTS TO GIVE BACK TO HIS BROTHERS, THE U.S. ARMY RANGERS.

Lead The Way Lacrosse Day Of Heroes 2010

UPDATE:   All The Lead the Way Lacrosse Day of Heroes activities are schedule to proceed as planned with one exception.

Due to restrictions placed by the Federal Aviation Authority and Port Authority of New York, the U.S. Special Operations Daggers and Rangers Parachute Jump at the Lacrosse Day of Heroes is canceled.

ALL OTHER EVENTS OF THE DAY WILL PROCEED AS SCHEDULED!!!

The U.S. Special Operations Daggers and Rangers Parachute Jump will be re-scheduled at a future Lead the Way Fund event.

The Lead the Way Lacrosse Day of Heroes is a 3 game lacrosse shootout between the country’s best high school lacrosse teams.  The one day event will take place on Saturday April 24, 2010 at St. Anthony’s High School, Huntington, New York (co-sponsor of the event).  Six teams are competing in the event –  St. Anthony’s vs. New Canaan, Chaminade vs. Yorktown, Manhasset vs. Darien.  The Lead the Way Lacrosse Day of Heroes recognizes past and present protectors of the Flag and 100% of the profits are donated to the “Lead the Way Fund”.  Our special event honorees will be local heroes – LCpl. James Argentine (SA ’05), Sgt. James J. Regan (CHS ’98), Lt. Ronald Winchester (CHS ’97), Lt. Michael L. LiCalzi (CHS ’00).

Before you purchase your tickets please read the details below. All sales are final and non-transferrable. Games will be played rain or shine!
GENERAL
 The event will take place at St. Anthony‟s High School, Huntington New York. As a result, School and State rules dictate that NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, TOBACCO PRODUCTS, COOLERS, PETS or BACKPACKS will be allowed on School property.
 More than 4,000 attendees are expected to participate and take advantage of the day‟s events. Some of the events will be covered by MSG Media and broadcast regionally to its household subscribers. This promises to be a fun, exciting and patriotic day for all.
 Please note, all scheduled activities are subject to change.
PURCHASING TICKETS
 To purchase your tickets click (https://www.leadthewayfund.org/events).
 You may purchase as many tickets as you want. All purchases should be done online and all major credit cards are accepted.
 Tickets are $8.00 ages 3-17yrs and $15.00 for Adults; apologies there are no discounts.
 ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
 Once you have completed your online purchase you will be directed to a receipt page. YOU MUST PRINT OUT THAT PAGE AND STORE IT IN A SAFE PLACE. YOU MUST TAKE YOUR PRINTED PAYPAL RECEIPT AND YOUR PHOTO ID WITH YOU ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT.
 We expect this event to sell out quickly. Any tickets that do not sell during the pre-sale event will be sold the day of the event in the rear of the school by the softball field. We CANNOT guarantee that any tickets will be available the day of the event.
DAY OF
 Activities will begin at 11:15 AM. There will be no access to the stadium field or the back of the school until 10:30 AM and entrance to those areas will be restricted to Pay Pal receipt holders only. At that time wristbands will be distributed. All attendees must have a Pay Pal receipt and ID regardless of age or which game you are attending (no refunds, exchanges or substitutions). The only exception is for those high school players and coaches who are participating in the games.
 All attendees must enter at the back of the parking lot by the softball field. All other entrances to the school will be secured and entrances to the event will only be at that location. Once you arrive at the site you may come and go as you please provided you have your wristband.
 All seating is first come first serve basis
 This is a rain or shine event.
 All costs from the event including the purchase of tickets are tax deductible as allowed by law. The proceeds will go to the Lead the Way Fund, a 501 C-3 charity.
